【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverspolyolefin-basedplasticlumberproductsforuseasexteriorresidentialdeckingboards.1.2Plasticlumberproductsarecurrentlymadepredominantlywithrecycledpolyolefinplastics(inparticularhigh-densitypolyethylene)wheretheproductsaremoreorlessnon-homogenousinthecross-section.However,thisspecificationisalsopotentiallyapplicabletosimilarmanufacturedplasticproductsmadefromotherplasticandplasticcompositematerialsthathavenon-homogenouscross-sections.1.3Thisspecificationdetailsaproceduretocalculaterecommendedspanlengthsforspacingofsupportjoists.Thisprocedurewasdevelopedusingexperimentaldatafromatypicalunreinforcedplasticlumbermadepredominantlyfromrecycledhigh-densitypolyethylene.ThemethodologytodevelopspanlengthsforothertypesandcompositionsofplasticlumberisdetailedinAppendixX1ofthisstandard.1.4Thevaluesarestatedininch-poundunits,asthesearecurrentlythemostcommonunitsusedbytheconstructionindustry.EquivalentSIunitsareindicatedinparentheses.However,theunitsstatedforirradianceexposureintheweatherabilitysection(6.3)areinSIunitsasthesearetheunitscommonlyusedfortestingofthistype.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOStandard.
