【摘要】:Akeyconsiderationwithanyradiographicsystemisitscapabilitytoresolvedetail(thatis,sensitivity).Thedegreeofobtainablesensitivitywithagivensystemisdependentuponseveralradiographicparameterssuchassourceenergylevel,filmtype,typeandthicknessofintensifyingscreens,exposure(density),etc.ThisguidepermitstheusertoestimatethedegreeofsensitivitythatmaybeobtainedwithXraysandcobalt-60gammarayswhenusingaprescribedsetofradiographicparameters.ThisguidemayalsobeusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodE746toprovideabasisfordevelopingdataforevaluationofauser’specificsystem.Thisdatamayassistauserindeterminingappropriateparametersforobtainingdesireddegreesofradiographicsystemsensitivity.AnalternatetothisapproachistheuseofthoseadjunctradiographicillustrationsdetailedinSection6.1.1Thisguidetoobtainableequivalentpenetrametersensitivitycoverstheminimumpenetrameterthicknessesforwhichtheimageofthe1Tand2Tholesisvisibleforafewpracticalradiographicconditions.Thevaluesrepresentnearoptimumsensitivityforflatsteelplates.Radiographicconditionsthatgivehighervaluesofscatterbuildupfromthespecimenorbackscatteredradiationattheimageplanewillgivepoorersensitivity.1.2EightradiographsthatillustratesensitivitiesobtainablewithpracticalradiographicsystemsareincludedasadjunctstothisguideandmaybeobtainedfromASTM.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
